A Primavera P6? endeavor
I am currently (1800) lines into a five-year schedule using MS Project 2003. Anyone who has ever used MS Project before knows the many and sometimes confusing features that can be helpful. Many of you will sympathize with these words: “You are only one click away disaster, so save often” and “Jesus saves, so should you.”
My prayers were answered when Primavera P6TM was granted to me and I now have Administrator responsibilities. Imagine my excitement when I logged in to the Web interface. We will start 101 and 102 training in the first few weeks of October 2008, and we will also get PDUs. It takes time and planning to develop and implement a project portfolio management tool. I will be working with other stakeholders to create the Enterprise Project Structure, Organizational Breakdown Structure and import the existing Work Breakdown Structure from the MS Project file. It is not an easy task, but the end result will be well worth it.
